BAiR Program Application
The Carbon County Arts Guild has partnered with the Yellowstone Bighorn Research Association (YBRA) to offer artists a chance to have uninterrupted time to work in a natural setting. Applications are being accepted now to May 30, 2026 for residencies in September 2026.
Beartooth Pass Tour
In celebration of the 90th anniversary of the opening of the Beartooth Highway the Carbon County Historical Society and Museum is sponsoring a Geology & Ecology tour of the Beartooth Pass! Pre-registration and ticket purchase ($50) is required.
Tippet Rise Geo-Paleo Tours
June 25 and July 2, 9, or 23rd. Guided by a YBRA geologist in partnership with Tippet Rise Art Center employees, this 2.5 hour tour offers an amazing opportunity to explore a majestic landscape. All tour dates and ticket sales ($10) are coordinated through the Tippet Rise Art Center. Tours normally fill fast.
Teacher’s Workshop
This FREE course is sponsored in part by the YBRA and run by Ripple: The Center for Education and Ecosystem Studies. The 2026 course The Ecosystem Migration Academy, will focus on the migration of ungluates, people, and waterfowl throughout Montana. Applications are due by June 10!

YBRA Annual Meeting!
Our event is 5PM Mountain Standard Time. The YBRA holds an annual (virtual) Membership Meeting in December of each year that spotlights camp updates and planning!

Guided by a YBRA geologist in partnership with Tippet Rise employees, this three hour tour offers an amazing opportunity to explore a majestic landscape. All tours are coordinated through the Tippet Rise Art Center. 2025’s tours are scheduled for June 26, July 10 and July 17.
Camp Tour and Picnic
The Carbon County Historical Society & Museum will sponsor a museum-led field trip from Red Lodge to the YBRA for a tour of the historic camp facilities and a Mount Maurice picnic!
